A Classy Time with Bulletstorm - 03 - Act 1 Chapter 1: Just like the Old Days
The sooner you get the plot out of the way the sooner you can get to trying to shoot people in the dick for points.
I have to wonder how many people would try doing things in this that are designated as skillshots if the game didn't have little messages with numbers popping up all over. That is, if yanking some guy towards you, sticking a bomb on him, kicking him back towards his friends and exploding it/him was just something you could do, as opposed to giving you a bunch of points. Would it still be rewarding? Does having a little number pop up *make* it rewarding? Does the fact that you get points from doing it put the emphasis on showing off or earning points?
This would be a great segue into the sociological concept of rationalization and the replacement of objective values with subjective ones, and how what Bulletstorm does really isn't much different from the Battlefields and Modern Warfares and all their +50 and +100 pop-ups during multiplayer. A lot of these descriptions are overlong to begin with, though.
