A Compact Day and Night Sensor - Light Detector in Minecraft - Explanation and Tutorial
0This is my new day / night detector. It's much more compact than my previous designs and even more compact than Etho's light sensor which you can see on the link bellow. It relies on the brightness differences which cause grass spreading and despawning. That triggers a BUD switch.

Dimensions: 5x5x3 blocks
Speed: about 1 second (this means that there is almost no possibility of the grass growing while the state is switching, which would mess the system up)
If it does show wrong for some reason, it fixes itself in one day.
