A Critical Thought on Understanding Emergent Gameplay
Today's Critical Thought looks at the concept of emergent gameplay and the basis for designing games in such a way. To think along the lines of emergent gameplay, you have to understand your mechanics as "tools" instead of "keys." There will be a follow up post in a few days on the topic that I'll link to below.
