In the late 900s, King Liam wished to stretch the Kingdom of ireland to all of Britannia.
To do this, he married his heir matrilineally to the Byzantine Emperor's daughter in order to secure a military alliance.
King Andrew II as a result cannot pass on the Horning family name to his children, and Ireland would be lost to the greeks.
He comes up with a rather radical solution.
