The Combat: Sort of Like XCOM
Combat in Cyber Knights Flashpoint is turn-based, with a per character initiative order, which means there are real tactics involved in which character acts when, as you can delay your turn if you wish to wait for a character to turn off a security camera / laser grid, or setup an ambush around a corner.
Combat here is an AP system, like in XCOM.
Unlike XCOM, you won’t be spending each turn crawling forward and overwatching, as only some characters can overwatch here, and it’s on a short 1 turn cooldown, encouraging a more aggressive playstyle.
The overwatch here both interrupts and stops enemy movement; potentially pinning the out in the open, so it is very powerful, just not the solution to all of your problems, as it often feels like in XCOM.

Additionally, the AI security system is watching, and if it sees you, or a guard calls out an alarm, or you trip a laser grid, the security lvl will rise, resulting in more and more forces being sent against you.
The longer you are in a mission, the more the security lvl will rise, further encouraging a more aggressive playstyle from the player compared to the usually XCOM mission.

Controller Support is present, as is good old mouse and keyboard, in case you prefer to play a Turn Based Tactics game how they were originally meant to be played.
I found keyboard and mouse control here much smoother.

Note: This is an early look at the demo for Cyber Knights Flashpoint, so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Cyber Knights Flashpoint is a fun Turn Based Tactics Sci-Fi CyberPunk RPG where you get to fight the corporate power, and is easily worth a wishlist and a watch.
