Monetization strategies after the initial sale is something game companies are heavily focused on right now. Going forward it appears that a one time purchase is not enough for most companies and they are trying several different things to get money from their customers consistently with a single game. Save files were monetized by Konami with Metal Gear Survive and now it appears another game is doing just that on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Is this going to be a trend going forward?
