A GameCube Style Controller for the Nintendo Switch? | Unboxing the NYXI Hyperion Controller
The NYXI Hyperon wireless controller for the Nintendo Switch has some seriously nice styling, taking some obvious design cues from the GameCube in its shell and button coloring.
In hand, it feels pretty good, with my biggest gripe being that it's a bit light when you consider its overall size. I also find it a bit odd to make the decision to have each Joycon have an individual USB C charging port rather than have it charge off of the included grip/rail, nor can I really understand the decision to include only one USB C cord if you need two to make your device work properly.
The texture on the plastic is nice and grippy, so no worries here about it slipping out of hand. There are also included macro buttons as paddles on the back of the controller, so you can program in some button combos should you choose to do so. I'm also a sucker for glowy bits, and this controller is awash in LED sheen around the thumbsticks and rail slides.
Have you used the Hyperion? Let me know your thoughts!
