After how awesome Halo 2 was, I couldn’t wait to get back to the Chief and kick some more ass and finish the fight. Master Chief and The Arbiter are back, Cortana is lost, the battle against the covenant is coming to an end… but you know what they say, it could always be worse…

But before we get into the rest of the story, lets start with some of things I didn’t like.

Recycled enemies, lots of driving, a downgraded remastered version.

Let’s start with what felt like a downgraded remastered version of this game, here’s a couple of clips from Halo 2: The Master Chief Collection… and now here’s this. Look I get it, I know I’m 16 years late but what happened with the remastered version? It was just something I noticed immediately, but after awhile, I did get use to it. Moving on!

Wow, there was a lot of driving in this game, I mean it was definitely better than walking everywhere, but when it was time to take down the big boys, you either had to choose from being slow with a lot of fire power or being fast with little or no fire power. Just this horn and counting someone else to make the shots.

I know I’m probably gonna take some heat for this one, but the recycled enemies, you know these guys… again. There was the battles with Scarab’s which was a little different, but having to fight the same enemies for the past 3 games was a little disappointing, even Gears of War 3 introduced new enemies from the start of that game. Fighting against The Flood was fun but it was still nothing new.

The voice acting was good, the story was ok and the music was just ok too. I remember saying that music from Halo 2 was one of my favorite parts of that game, this time around, I can’t remember any parts that actually stood out to me other than the drive at the end.

With all that being said, Halo 3 is still a must play and one I’m happy to cross off my list. The experience was a little underwhelming for me, but it still proved why Master Chief is a total badass and why he is the legend that he is and not that it matters so much, because with 16 years of glory, my meaningless and honest rating for Halo 3, is a 7/10. I think if The Flood would’ve taken the lead on this one and been the only enemy, I would’ve enjoyed more and I’m gonna give the original trilogy a 7/10 and I can confidently say that Halo 2 is my favorite of so far because I still have a few more to cross of my list… but… for now… God of War.
