Ghostlore is an Action RPG, think Diablo or Torchlight, but with monsters straight out of Southeast Asian folklore. Fight possessed banana trees, hopping zombies, demon battle piggies of doom, and more!
Ghostlore is a Diablolike with a unique flair! It has day and night cycles too!
Beyond the fresh and underused setting and look, there is an interesting Character Customization system present.
In Ghostlore, you can mix and match for 3 of the 6 classes in the game, letting you create a character template to your liking. It’s kind of like multiclassing in D&D, or Grim Dawn.
Character building wise, Ghostlight feels closest to Grim Dawn, but with Procedural Generation! Local Co-op too! OMG YES!
And Ghostlore has an interesting Glyph system that lets you upgrade your character as you explore in the dungeons, shaping your build with the goodies to find, dropping them in dynamically as you keep pushing forward.
And you are freely able to move these glyphs around as you wish, stacking them to focus on Accuracy, basic damage, HP, MP, Skill Damage, avoidance, and more.
And there are other glyphs called compound glyphs, which you drop in that are shaped like Tetris blocks, and give bonuses depending on the specific simple glyphs you fit within them.
It is a very unique take on the grid inventory puzzles of Diablo and Grim Dawn, good work devs!
And I like how you can completely unload with your abilities to a great extend, limited only by your mana, and a regenerating number of skills; it means I’m not just rotating ability cooldowns like one might in WoW; there is some depth here in Ghostlore.
