Sir Aymeric is in the Vault, charged with heresy in trying to get the Archbishop to admit the truth to the people. Elise and her friends however are working to free him from the gaol. With the help of Hilda and the people from the brume, they aim to launch a rescue mission.

Much to Count de Fortemps dismay, Haurchefant aims to join Elise in the rescue effort. His reasoning? A knight's calling is to serve and he plans to do just that.
