This sure came out of nowhere. One of the best things about the OUYA's marketplace is you never know what you're going to get or exactly when you're going to get it. With Shadow Blade, you may think you're getting a Shinobi knock-off based on the thumbnail art. While it's got ninjas, it also has nothing to do with Shinobi beyond both involving action-platforming. This game has more of a rhythm component to it and controls like a dream. The OUYA has many platformers on it, but few of them are really worth playing beyond an initial trial just to check them out. This one is well-worth spending some time on and is easily the best-playing platformer on the system to date. Towerfall may be a better multi-player experience, but nothing quite tops this for single-player fun. At $5, this is a solid value given that it's got a bunch of levels, excellent graphics, smooth controls, and a solid soundtrack.
