A More Realistic and Brutal Beat 'Em Up | Acts of Blood demo
Hello everyone! Here we are with yet another upcoming demo. This is Acts of Blood, an awesome looking beat 'em up that takes the genre into a more realistic and crude territory, reminding me a bit to some thriller action movies, like The Raid. Performance is pretty good and combat is quite smooth and hard, my main problem here being the inconsistency of the parry due to timing; sometimes it works if you do it early, sometimes if you do it late, and some other times you do it while they attack you, you see the animation, but it doesn't counterattack. I also noticed that there are a few balance issues to be done, because with some attacks you have a time frame of 0.1 seconds to react (yes, this time I checked with a timer), which is not hard if they come running at you, but if they are just standing by you, and they decide to go from passive to attack in 0.1 is almost impossible to react.
Also, because of the inconsistency of the parry, I wasn't sure if the boss wasn't parryable or just timing being weird... If it wasn't, I would like some kind of special alert to differentiate it from the other attacks.
Anyways, once I got the trick of some details, I had way much more fun doing the arenas.
