So, let's talk about the FTC and the new COPPA guidelines that are coming into effect in 2020. Otherwise known as the Adpocalypse!

It turns out that YouTube has (illegally) been collecting data on people under the age of 13 for quite some time. This violates "The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act" ( or COPPA for short). Luckily, the FTC have caught them, and slapped them with a big fine.

However!

The FTC are completely going overboard and they are gonna be targeting YouTubers directly, even if their content isn't directly marketing towards people under 13.

As a YouTuber who talks about things like videogames and figures, this could potentially be a big problem for the future of my channel.
