Thirty years later, we’re finally getting a sequel (of sorts) to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. On Wednesday, publisher Dotemu and game developer Tribute Games revealed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, described as “a classically informed side scrolling beat-em-up directly inspired by classic TMNT games.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a four-player co-op beat-’em-up in the classic Konami style — that is, the style of brawler that sucked quarters out of anyone who played 1989’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its 1991 sequel, Turtles in Time, in arcades. Presumably, Shredder’s Revenge will offer a gameplay experience tailored for home, not for draining TMNT fans of their allowance.

As seen in the game’s debut trailer, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello will take on classic enemies like the Foot Clan, Bebop, and Rocksteady in their new side-scrolling adventure. The trailer also teases the appearances of other friends and foes — all to the tune of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series theme song, as sung by Mike Patton of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle fame. Apex Legends is out now on the Nintendo Switch, and gameplay-wise it’s pretty much a straight port of the PS5, Xbox Series X and PC versions. However, anyone who’s played this frenetic battle royale will know the software is making a very big ask of the Switch’s relatively modest hardware. So how well does Apex Legends run on the Switch?

In a way, it is an impressive technical achievement, just as it was when Doom or Apex’s battle royale rival, Fortnite, made their way onto the Switch. But at the same time, the graphical compromises required might just make you wonder if they were worth it. Pepe Le Pew will not be showing up at all in the upcoming theatrical sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy on July 16.

With the Looney Tunes French skunk besieged by controversy in the wake of New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow slamming that the cartoon character “added to rape culture,” Deadline has learned that a hybrid live-action animation scene between Jane the Virgin actress Greice Santo and Pepe Le Pew, shot back in June 2019 for Space Jam 2 was left on the cutting room floor.

The Pepe Le Pew character will likely be a thing of the past across all media. Warner Bros. also has no current TV series featuring the skunk and there are no plans to have him appear on Looney Toons, Bugs Bunny Builders, Tiny Toons Looniversary or future projects, sources confirmed to Deadline.
