After learning that my brother had become a brony, I reluctantly agreed to watch the show, in exchange for my brother playing a number of games of my choosing. And, after subjecting myself to it, I think I might understand why the brony fandom formed, so here's an over-analysis of the show from the perspective of an outsider.
