Welcome back to A Noob Plays Fortnite, and today is the first video of Save the World. Save the world is the paid component of Fortnite, alongside Battle Royale. Save the World puts you and four friends or randoms to do specific missions. You grind loot, gain xp and get better stuff.
Fortnite is a hugely popular game. Skins in the Battle Royale mode are selling like crazy! I myself bought Magnus, but many other rare skins are being purchased. Its no different in Save the World. Loot Lama's are the games loot boxes or microtransactions. No one really comments on the fact Fortnite has loot boxes as it gets overlooked because of the PvP Battle Royale mode taking the spotlight.
Truth be told Epic Games has done a fantastic job on developing this loot grind game. Very similar to live service games like Destiny & The Division. I am surprised Ubisoft has not grabbed the idea yet.
That being said Save the World is much less populated than the Battle Royale. There are no main locations like Dusty Divot, Tilted Towers, Greasy Grove, Loot Lake, Flush Factory, Risky Reels or Salty Springs. Instead the game plays out on a massive map of selectable missions. The first area is Stonewood where I play today. Plankerton comes next but not for a while!
The game requires some serious grinding! You get your main quests, side quests, tutorial quests and a host of other quests and objectives, including timed events like Road Trip. However to truly progress you need to repeat missions a multiple of times on a multiple of difficulty levels. You progress up the difficulty rankings but can try out harder ones whilst you are under powered. This however make things much more tricky!
