A blind run of barrel2.wad, a puzzle map involving barrels, created by Cameron Newham in 1994. This wad is referenced in Colin Phipps' article "Shooting Through Things", which can be found here: http://games.moria.org.uk/doom/research/shooting-through-things

It took a while to find it, but I finally got to the infamous chainsaw battle that makes the blockmap bug very hard not to be noticed. It happened at the room that contains the red key, if you choose to fight the spectres at the very tight corridor containing the key itself. That corridor has a blockmap line going straight through the middle, effectively cutting the spectres' "hitboxes" in half and making you miss 50% of the time with any hitscan attacks.

However, it just so happens that there IS a strategy to avoid the bug: don't attack in a straight line when using melee attacks. Try to attack in a diagonal (10-30º angle, 45º might be too much), to make the hitscan line go through multiple blockmaps and have a higher chance of "finding" the enemy.

This is a blind run: my first time playing these maps. Ultra-Violence, pistol start.
