A Plague Tale Innocence: Chapter 10 - The Way of Roses | Gameplay
2The Way of Roses is one of the chapters in A Plague Tale: Innocence. It takes place at the university. This area is heavily guarded so you need to be on your guard. Otherwise, the whole adventure will end quickly.
Follow the linear corridor. Soon, you will enter a great hall with two enemies. Wait until one of them leaves. Kill the second guard. Take the chest standing next to his corpse and move it forward. Thanks to this, you are able to climb to the balcony and reach the next room.
Go down the stairs. You reach a room with a monk and two soldiers. Wait until one of them leaves. Now you have a choice. You can eliminate the remaining enemies in the room or sneak past them. If you chose the second option, wait until the monk turns his back to the exit.
In the next room, you will encounter two enemies. They have no lanterns. Sneak up on the rotating lamp and free the rats. They will eat the first soldier. Eliminate the second by throwing Odoris at him.
Depending on where your opponents died, either keep moving or move the lamp to clear the way.
You are now in a heavily guarded corridor. Go right. There, you will encounter two opponents. Hide behind cover near the opposite wall. Then, throw a stone at the armor container. You will distract both enemies. This gives you the opportunity to sneak into the next room.
Remember to hide behind covers. Enemies can detect you here, too. Go to the lamp and turn it towards the wall. Thanks to that, you will clear the way for the rats. Then, throw two Odoris and sneak towards the door.
You are in a corridor. Go up the stairs located opposite. You reach the balcony above the hall. You learn about the son of a blacksmith.
You have to find him. Follow the heavily armored enemy. You can't be detected - hide behind all available covers. When you reach the library, hide behind the shelves. In the university auditorium, hide behind the last bench.
That way you will get to the gate. Kill the heavily armored enemy with the chandelier. Simply shoot at its chain. You now have to cover Rodric until he opens the gate.
Keep moving through the undergrounds. Soon, you will find the book. To get to it, you need to place the shelves in the right way. Rodric will be spinning the mechanism while you are moving on the upper level. First, tell him to turn the lever to the left of the entrance. This lifts up the cabinet which will free the cart. Take it and place under the recess located near the same row of shelves.
Then, climb up and drop the second cart. Go down and order Rodric to turn the right lever. In the meantime, place the cart beneath the shelves lifted a moment ago.
After that, go back upstairs. Go to the raised shelves and tell Rodric to turn the middle lever. The shelf will fall. You can pass now.
Tell Rodric to release the lever. The path to the book is easy.
You now have to run away with the book. Rodric is a strong companion - you will use him to eliminate your opponents. He will handle the first one himself. As for the second enemy, you have to first throw a stone into the container to make the enemy turn his back.
After that, you have to perform a synchronized attack. Order Rodric to take out the soldier with a helmet. When the ally gets close to him, you will eliminate the other enemy.
Leave the building. You are in the yard. Here, you will learn Extinguish recipe - it allows you to extinguish the fire. Use it to extinguish the hearth next to the soldier standing in front of you. You can move forward. Do the same with the torch of the next opponent.
Unfortunately, even if you eliminate that enemy, you still won't be able to proceed forward. Use Luminosa on his corpse.
