A possible unused early 80s SNL Mr Bill skit (double feature stock footage presentation)
If you're a fan of the unlucky clay clown character Mr. Bill, you may or may not have seen his "Oh Noooooo! It's Mr. Bill's 20th Anniversary" special from 1995, which opens up with footage of Mr. Bill in a powdering room getting ready for his show with some "help" from Mr. Hands, who just as easily "helps" Mr. Bill blow dry his "hair," resulting in his face melting from the heat.
However, you may or may not also know, that same footage was also originally used for a "We're All Going to Die" Comedy Central PSA promo in 1992 (when they would make a series of these commercials with many different celebs, including a rare instance of using a fictional character, in this case, Mr. Bill). Since Comedy Central had the rights to SNL at the time, I can see why they decided to include him for a spot.
His "We're All Going to Die" promo was my introduction to his character schtick and franchise when I was watching my dad's recording of the world premiere of Mst3k episode 419 - The Rebel Set one Sunday night when I was 7 years old, which I had previously uploaded separately a year ago, and as I had mentioned in my description, I....... didn't have a good initial introduction to his character schtick, being completely unfamiliar with it at the time, and AVOIDED that particular recording (and another one with the same commercial, a previous recording of the world premiere of Mst3k episode 324 - Master Ninja II) during the single digit years, until I saw ANOTHER commercial with his character, which was a commercial for Ramada, made in 2001, which IMMEDIATELY flooded back my memories of seeing that commercial and then his character started to make more sense when I had (finally) gotten over that commercial at the age of 10 and curiously checked out more information about him through google, since finding out more of his butt monkey character schtick.
It wasn't until last year I had discovered this special and was surprised to figure out that the same footage was also repurposed for the opening to this special, so it made me wonder if this was possibly an unused early 80s SNL skit. We may never know.
Either way, I wanted to present both purposes of the footage back to back, so here you go.
"Oh nooooooooooo!"
