A really annoying way to play GAC Defence heavy - SWGOH

I don't understand the mentally of how you can win if you go defence heavy. And when you have more relic characters it doesn't make sense to place slot of them on defence.
For a attack minded person like me this is really infuriating and happens an awful lot in this 3v3 game mode of grand arena championship.
