A SCIENTIST, A STORY
Science is fundamental to the well being and progress of any society. It's a respected activity, but not always well understood. And the people who work as scientists are generally even less well known. Most ordinary Brazilians would struggle to recall the names of three great Brazilian scientists. Finding out about the life stories of such scientists is a way to awaken interest in science, and in the ways it affects our daily lives.
The series “One Scientist, One Story” has the following objective: to tell the stories of individual scientists in a way that’s both engaging and concise. It features 30 great scientists whose work has helped make Brazil a better place, and from which we continue to benefit today. These were men and women who brought innovation to industry, advanced their nation’s knowledge and understanding, and helped give the outside world a positive view of Brazil.
The series highlights the most compelling and inspiring elements in the biographies of these scientists. It uses 2D animation, and takes an informal approach. As such it’s well placed to awaken young people’s scientific curiosity, stimulating a desire to better understand science and its practical applications. The series is the result of a partnership between Canal Futura, SESI (the Social Service of Industry) and Projor (the Institute for the Development of Journalism).

A ciência é fundamental para o bem estar e o progresso das sociedades. É uma atividade respeitada, mas não muito conhecida. E as pessoas que fazem a ciência são ainda menos conhecidas. Dificilmente um brasileiro comum saberia dizer, de primeira, o nome de três grandes cientistas brasileiras. Conhecer a vida dos cientistas é uma forma de despertar interesse pela ciência e pelos efeitos que ela provoca na vida cotidiana de todos.
A série “Um cientista, uma história” tem este objetivo: contar de forma interessante, ainda que rápida, a história de 30 grandes cientistas cujo trabalho ajudou a melhorar o Brasil e nos beneficia a todos até hoje. Foram homens e mulheres que trouxeram inovações à indústria, fizeram avançar o conhecimento no país e levaram o nome do Brasil para o mundo de maneira positiva.
Com ênfase em aspectos curiosos e inspiradores da biografia desses cientistas e com o uso de animação 2D e de uma abordagem leve, a série pode despertar nos jovens a curiosidade pela ciência e o desejo de estimular seu conhecimento pelos temas científicos e suas aplicações práticas. A série é produto de parceria entre o Canal Futura, o SESI e o Projor.
