In 1918, during the first world war, a US Navy ship mysteriously disappeared in "this" region of the Atlantic ocean, known as the Bermuda triangle. The USS Cyclops AC-4, was a Proteus-class collier built for the US Navy. In January of 1918, she left for Brazil, to transport some 9000 tons of coal, and bring back 11,000 tons of manganese ore. On Feb 20th, she left Brazil and headed straight to the Baltimore Maryland, but made an unscheduled stop in Barbados. Then on March 4th, she steamed off for Baltimore, and was never seen again! The USS Cyclops literally vanished without any trace, debri or even an S O S. Not a bit of the wreckage, nor sign of any details has been found. She disappeared as if a gigantic sea monster had eaten her. It is known as the greatest non-combat loss of life in US Navy's history. The Navy launched a massive investigation into the disappearance of the Cyclops, but her loss remains unknown." More than 100 ships and planes have mysteriously disappeared in the so-called Bermuda Triangle, the region bounded by Bermuda, Miami and Puerto Rico.
