ABANDONED_64 is a free downloadable itch.io game where you exploit glitches to explore the vast world of a N64 that was scrapped during it's development and that its 'devs' were forced to abandon while it was being actively worked on. The bugs and glitches in the game ironically became a part of this game's mechanics, and you have to exploit those glitches to further progress in the game, and to see how worse the development, and the team behind the game, had gotten over time. The game goes from looking like a great Zelda-clone to looking like a completely rushed product in the end. The 'devs' had given up with the game because they felt it was way too ambitious, and a lot of the programmers who were working on it at the time had quit mid-development, and felt that the lead designer was not thinking of the constraints of the N64's Expansion Pak. It features a pretty unique and clever concept, and has a interesting storyline that does not drag on for too long. It's a pretty creative way to tell a story.

ABANDONED_64 tells the story of an ambitious development group working on a Zelda-esque game for the Nintendo 64, codenamed "Project Kolos". The game was supposed to be about a story similar to one of Zelda; a town is threatened by an evil serpent and the player must go through vast worlds to defeat it. As the developers continued to work on the game, the game got gradually worse over time and eventually the devs were forced to abandon the game mid-development, which left "Project Kolos" unfinished. The vast amount of bugs in the game were so bad they eventually became part of the game's mechanics, and the Debug Mode would be used as sort of a element to the game. Tons of programmers who actively worked on it left as they felt the game was way too ambitious for the N64. All that remains is this build of the game that remains in an unfinished state.
