July 6th 1976, London - Little Lover

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Bon Scott's tragic death in 1980. To remember the greatest vocalist of all time, I put together this slideshow containing images sorted by year (1974-1980).

While I never saw Bon perform in person as I simply wasn't alive at the time, the amount of things I heard from you guys who did see him just boost his reputation of being a legendary performer. But who can explain it better than Angus himself:

"When we walked on, my fucking feet lifted off the ground. I mean, I knew Bon was doing it to impress me, but it was like a hurricane - his voice - and he just let out this almighty fucking yell. That place went... They just stopped. You had to look. As I said, my feet lifted off the fucking ground and then it was into it."
-Angus, about an early Bon Scott gig in Australia.

Bon was never afraid to push audiences to the limit, by any means necessary, but also pushed himself to (and past) the limits. There will never be another Bon Scott,
No matter how hard anyone tries.

As Peter Wells recalls:

"Bon used to practice his diving technique back at the Melbourne Freeway Gardens Motel, he'd come out on the balcony and dive into the fucking pool pissed - from the
second floor! That blew me out. He used to give it an awful big nudge and be pretty crazy. You always knew he was about. They'd lock you up for that sort of stuff
these days. A lot of the anecdotes - some of them are true, probably some of them aren't, and there's other ones that you probably couldn't talk about that are
bigger than all of them!"
