Ace Combat 7: Into the Danger Zone part 1 Missions 1-5
0Welcome SimuSquad to brand new glorious adventure on Playstation 4! We are fly into Ace Combat 7: Unknown Skies! It has been a long time since I've played a game like this, but there was a time when I played a lot of fighter pilot games. I always want to be a fighter pilot since I was a kid, but you have all seen my glasses, so that was never going to happen. I did the first five missions of the game. The missions aren't very complicated to explain, so this description won't be an essay.
The first mission is called Charge Assault, and it is basically the tutorial mission. We get to do a manual take-off, and off we fly into battle for the Osean Federation. We have to deal with an attack from the Kingdom of Erusea bombers as they come at our base. This mission is relatively simple as we only have to work about air to air combat, and the planes are normal sized. After we shoot down the target planes, and chase off the few left, we return to base.
The second mission is called Charge the Enemy, and has us taking the fight back to the enemy. This has us attacking an enemy airfield that requires us to target radar vehicles to make safer for planes to fly through the area to fight the enemy. We do a lot of damage to the enemies' base on more than just the target vehicles. Some planes show up to split my attention, but I take them out. The last segment has our first encounter with the drones that will become more of an issue later.
The third mission is called Two-Pronged Strategy, and starts with a mid-air refueling. A quick diversion before we charge into battle against more enemy planes. After shooting down several of them, we see a new type of enemy aircraft that drops enemy drones that clog the airspace. We get shot down a few times here from drones once, and twice from an AoE attack done by the craft that was dropping drones. Our forces are overwhelmed by the enemy, and we have to retreat. Two ally planes get shot down, and we leave the mission area.
The four mission is called Rescue, and starts our first unique mission. It is essentially a stealth mission at first. We have to avoid enemy radar, and have to deal with turbulence as well. The wind keeps trying to blow my plane into the radar fields. I fail the mission once as I get turned around, and blunder into the radar. The second half of the mission is our more normal dogfight and bombing runs. We are trying to rescue the former president from a previous game. The air starts to get clogged with more enemy planes and drones. The resulting battle has a twist ending that will have consequences for our character.
The fifth and final mission of the episode is called 444. This mission starts in a prison disguised as an air base that our character that was sent to after the events of mission four. At first we don't have weapons because the warden doesn't want us to fight. After a few minutes and me buzzing a couple bombers, we go weapons hot, and start shooting back. The planes and bombers go down quick after the enemy hits the control tower of the base. Once the enemies are down, we hand our plane and the mission, and the stream ends!
