Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown - SP Mission 01: Unexpected Visitor [Casual - Easy] (JP voices)
1To think that this game is five years old now... And yes, it was on this day half a decade ago that this first DLC mission released worldwide.
Granted, this isn't the first time that I've played through this particular set of DLC missions (which was released over the course of three months way back when), but back then, I didn't have a state-of-the-art gaming PC, so the graphics and/or performance weren't exactly superb (plus I was using overpowered aircraft that had absolutely no basis in reality). Therefore, I've decided that I'm going to attempt to beat my high score on those three DLC missions (with a much more powerful gaming PC, no less) while having Japanese voices turned on (plus I'm going to use real-life aircraft this time around).
An intense mission which contains air-to-air plus air-to-ground targets calls for a truly advanced aircraft, and really, what other multirole fighter jet is there to fill that role than the Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet? (Yes, I know that more advanced aircraft such as the F-22A Raptor and the Su-57 exist, but then again, did any of those modern jets have the honor of being flown by the one and only Maverick in, well, 'Top Gun: Maverick'?)
So yeah, let's see how quickly I can complete this mission with this single-seater aircraft that has been serving with the United States Navy to this very day since the turn of the 21st century. (Some say it's been in service since 1999, but since the Super Hornet wouldn't achieve Initial Operating Capability until 2001, I guess it's safe to say that this carrier-based multirole fighter became operational around the same time when the sixth generation of console gaming really took off with the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.)
