2As the first mainline KOF game to be made after the original SNK's closure, I do find KOF 2001 to be rather peculiar in comparison to the other mainline entries (though it's worth noting that this particular fighting game serves as the grand finale to the NESTS Saga which started in KOF '99 and continued in KOF 2000). That being said, the usual SNK boss shenanigans are ever present here. (In fact, I had to retry once against Original Zero and once against Igniz, AKA the sub-boss and final boss of this game respectively, even on the lowest difficulty.)
