The majority of PSP games are locked to 30 or 20 FPS by a simple frame limiter - disabling it is a matter of finding it with a cheat engine. The problem, of course, is that a lot of games have a lot of mechanics directly linked to the frame rate - doubling the game's speed and rendering it unplayable. Ace Combat X is one such case. To make it workable in 60 FPS, the additional variables directly linked to each gameplay element must be found, and manually halved - a very labor-intensive effort.
Solitarius has made a fantastic job of it already, as player throttle, movement, missiles and the timer are all running correctly. However, much yet remains to be done - most obviously, enemy movement. And I simply don't have the time to comb through the entire game assembly tor them. I will, however, request help in various AC-related platforms, hopefully someone with more expertise than me will step in.
