2Some Ace Combat 7 gaming fun-times on the PS4. I really love the concept of the space elevator here - it reminds me of one of my favourite ever Manga series from back in the 90's called Cyber City Oedo 808. If you've never seen it check it out - it's 'kin ace! The particular episode in question also addresses the age old question of what would happen if you flushed a Vampire out of an airlock into the vacuum of space...
Ace Combat no 7 here is my first real foray into the world of Ace Combat. I hadn't realised that the game is set in an entirely fictitious alternate reality. It's known as Strangereal (ストレンジリアル) which is almost identical to our real universe, but its version of Earth features entirely different landmasses and historical events. Bizarre.
The main story of the game, with it concept of continually warring continents, has been giving me an oddly Orwellian vibe, particularly as the names of the two warring states, Osea and Erusea, sound sort of similar to Oceania and Eurasia from 1984 - whether this is intentional or not I couldn't say.
Game seems fun and looks pretty gorgeous. The voice acting is... a bit strange.
