Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap - Daimyo Dragon
1After taking on the Captain Dragon without too much trouble, it was time to move onto The Daiymo Dragon. I remember this being the place in the game, when I was playing it 30 years ago, where the difficulty suddenly ramped up a notch and it took me aaaages to finally clear it. True to form, the difficulty suddenly started kicking my arse here, the Ninjas are a right pain in the bum - it's kind of ironic that in the capture here I think I've made it not look too tricky.
The Boomerang is your friend here (especially because of the pesky Samurai that jump away from you when you try and hit them with your sword) - I was reliant on a Boomerang dropping on the way to the Temple, but after a few goes where they didn't, I had to have a quick look online and found out about the hidden magic shop in the village. Also, the first time I then got to the boss I had the Tasmanian Sword equipped and it was doing absolutely fuck all damage. I had to have another quick check online to see what the best Samurai killing kit was, and fortunately it was a sword I already possessed, that does tons of damage when used as Lion-Man - The Muramasa Blade
