Acer Predator G5-793 (78NU) laptop unboxing and VR testing (Robo Recall), 3 sensors
83Got this laptop 2 weeks ago. It has been sitting in a corner waiting to be unboxed and tested until yesterday.
As I've seen people struggle with VR on laptops, and reading a lot of bad press about how no so called "VR Ready" laptop is really VR ready, etc - I recorded some stuff and threw this video together instead of just opening it up and testing it without recording anything. It's not the typical review, I slapped on a bunch of text instead of speech.
All the info and details are in the video. But, to keep it short; I needed a new laptop mainly for video editing, and a 1050 TI would have sufficed, but as I'm getting a new laptop I might as well get one that can handle VR (even though I won't really VR on it, I use my desktop for that. It would just be a nice bonus if VR worked on it), so went with 1060. Looked through all models, like MSI, ASUS, Predator... and only this Acer laptop suited my needs. I'm an ASUS fan but had to go Acer this time.
