To raise happiness in the enclosure you open a drug dispensary with entertainment slab because if the humans are happy they are far more useful tests subjects and can endure longer torture sessions which makes the overlords happy. The humans seem to have done something strange with their enclosure, certain symbols appear with great frequency in the artwork and you realize you've seen them before somewhere, it's someone's personal mark and his picture is on the wall and also depicting one of the many images of the first Martian invasion that hang everywhere to remind the humans of their place.
On of the human drones has been assigned to "entertainment" duty, the Martian guests love "karo-ack-ee" and one of their favorite things to do is wait until a human get really invested in a song and cut ack ack all over it or with the audio cut, you are busy managing the facilities and monitoring the human population in case they try to break free, the programming is controlled by you the overseer in each enclosure and you are locked in a cell of your own and hardwired into the mainframe, you don't even have monitors or lights or even legs and never come in contact with other prisoners, you are in solitary confinement under the threat of the same torture as the other humans if you don't maintain the zoo and schedule testing to build rides for the Martian race.
You recognize the channel and search the archives and notice a substitute playlist made up of videos from the old internet and pump that into the enclosure because they seem to be asking you to. It mostly seems like history lessons and then it turns to music and more history lessons and more music but one video seems to be entirely out of place, it's a strangely edited live stream intercut with beer commercials ever few sentences and it's absurdly long and contains two unrelated games and then a longer explanation of the beer commercial ad campaign and then two full albums by the same band but in the wrong order with the first album coming after the second which is strange because both albums are rock operas about an old video game series and the while time there is text on the screen for some reason and the recording isn't even fullscreen, it's just poorly edited which is evident at the end when several overlapping scenes appear at once one is the the flag from the anime clip that suddenly showed up some 3 hours into the video near the very end with audio but the flag is overlaid on the actual footage of the final beer commercial and the dual audio finally cuts out so you can hear some of what the beer commercial said but suddenly the anime kicks back in.
It has been several days that they seem to insist on watching this specific program and you start listening in to try to figure out what is going on because their mental health has been declining since you started playing the program and so you watch the whole thing all the way through and you realize what is going on... they are sending you a very clear message. They need you, they need your help and they know that no single man can defeat the martians but they have been watching and waiting and planning this whole time, humans from different enclosures have started intermingling sharing their meager food supplies and it seems, learning how to communicate between enclosures. You realize that some of the escape attempts didn't make sense, they captive was healthy and all of his readings were nominal and he was even extra happy for some reason and then it hits you. They have a plan but they need your cooperation to free everyone including you using the theme park you have been building from their suffering and transforming the rides into weapons against the overconfident captors who have become so arrogant and lazy and overconfident that they even share food disponers with the humans in captivity. You realize you suddenly control your fate but only if all of the prisoners can communicate and co-operate in a covert unified assault.
You feel something you haven't felt in a while.. Hope. Flagpole Sitta starts playing and suddenly.... it hits differently and you understand.
