Action RPGs VS Turn Based RPGs

Marcusoneill79 - Turn-based all the way for me. I’m someone who likes to be able to take my time strategizing my attacks. Even though I do love certain action RPGs (like The Witcher), I find that for me many just end up devolving into mashing the attack buttons and not fully exploring all my combat options.
AwesomeDave1337 - As someone that likes to strategize and plan ahead, I prefer turn based RPGs. It’s also what I grew up on and I have strong nostalgia for turn based systems.
TheMuff1nMon - This is such a hard choice. My favorite JRPG series "Tales of" is an APRG but overall I think I have to say I'm #TeamTurnBased. A bad combat system can really hurt an ARPG and imo, story is the most important part of an RPG, so choosing turn based, which is probably the safer option, lets the focus be on the story like it should be.
Ngachacha - Prior to FF7R, I would've said turn-based all the way. However, I found the combat in FF7R to be incredibly deep, challenging but very rewarding at the same time.
TPR - From my previous questions this should come as no shock, I am an action RPG guy. The slow pace of turn-based RPGs bores me. I don't like spending several minutes thinking of my next move in games. It's been a tough pill to swallow, but one I've come to terms with. Do you guys have any turn-based RPGs you would still recommend for someone like myself?

Party Up

BrianEck - Ohh this is going to be a good episode and great talking point. As a kid, I was so intimidated by the RPG genre. But now as an adult (36) I’ve gotten back into gaming and really appreciate the genre. Chrono Trigger did it for me last year. Question for you guys - what is the game that got you into RPG’s?
