didn't think i'd be uploading this any time soon, but here we are.

i've been out of my dorm for the past few weeks, and although my setup back home isn't what i'd call ideal, it's more than enough to get me by my basic gd needs. a few days ago, i thought about trying to beat acu as a sort of sendoff to this year; although playing harder levels on my laptop isn't something i'd recommend, the levels uldm + fps bypass were enough to get me by. moreover, i intend on making a more accessible extreme demon next year, and i figured acu would be a good benchmark.

i will give credit where credit is due, and that's in how satisfying the level's gameplay is. i felt that this was more of a learning experience, with the bulk of my attempts dedicated to getting a feel for the difficulty curve, but once i broke through the drop several times everything else fell into place. most deaths felt justified, and i didn't think acu's difficulty curve was too terrible. with that said, i can't say this was the most enjoyable experience for me personally. as learny levels typically go (and especially with a beginning as grindy as this one), getting to the drop ended up being a chore, and i was hardly phased when i died far into the level. it ended up being less about if i could beat the level and more when i would, and that sort of thought process was rather strenuous. in any sense, i hope to use this knowledge to make a product more people are interested in playing down the road, so stay tuned for that.

can't say much about the decoration in this level besides it being good. i sadly had to use the level's uldm so i couldn't experience it in its fullest, but otherwise i respect the consistency of quality between sections, while utilizing movements and glow to introduce progression within the project.
