Adapt and Overcome: The British Army in Iraq is a new documentary that sets out to examine the military positives that can be traced to the war in Iraq, more than 20 years on from the start of operations there.

It’s made by Iraq veteran James Wharton, now a reporter at Forces News, who looks back at the impact the conflict had on battlefield technology, tactics and soldiering itself.

James writes - "Last year, while reporting on the 20th anniversary of the start of the Iraq War, I realised that the UK isn’t yet ready to consider the positives that came out of the eight year-long military campaign we undertook there.

But as a military, there are things we can, and should be happy to talk about. Particularly the incredible advances made in the areas of battlefield technology and equipment – progress that will pay benefits in the UKs next war, whenever that may be."
