This video shows how to add the unused white reflection gel to Portal 2 maps made in the in-game PTI editor. Reflection gel acts like a mirror to reflect lasers, a bit like the redirection cubes.

To get started, you obviously need a legitimate copy of Portal 2 installed on PC. Sorry Mac users, this won't work for you. Stuff like this is going to keep happening until you get a PC. Anyway, once you have Portal 2, you need to enable the developer console in the game's options. To enable the console, choose options on the main menu, then keyboard and mouse options, then simply toggle enable developer console. Once that's out of the way, just follow the guide in the video.

In Hammer, do NOT make any changes besides changing the gel type if you don't know what you're doing! You could very easily break your map. Don't touch anything else, don't even look at anything else. If you do make an accidental change, just undo it from the edit menu.

If you decide later on that you want to update the map after publishing, you must go back to p2map_publish.exe, select your map from the menu, click edit, and upload your new .bsp.
