Was doing a full recruit run (not full promotion), and Adel hit Level 20 before hitting 30 spear. He promoted and can use Lances now. With this addition, he's still a poor man's Clifford, but it's like eating a home cooked meal vs eating take-out. Sure take-out technically tastes better, but there's something so satisfying about the mediocrity you put a lot of work into.

Lances are pretty awesome. Spears tend to add 1 attack per tile moved to the target (ie Mt+1H) but Lances are more like Mt+3H or Mt+4H. They also can't counter or be countered. It's really fun when you have it, and toxic when the enemy has them.

Greatlance is 1+5H, which means at 7 move you get 41 might (because it counts the target tile as an extra tile, ie 1+40 damage). Drakelance is a very good lance but it would do 37 (5+4H) in this scenario. So anyway, I decided to make use of my new toy, since I pretty much deployed Adel in every map and it was a pain in the ass until he magically got 5 spear levels in all of Chapter 9.
