I should point out that ALL of the live action, while scripted, accurately depicts how making this video went!

In any case, today on Ancient DOS Games Gemini's taking a look at Street Fighter II... or rather, Super Street Fighter II? I thought for sure I had the original not the Super version... hmmm...

Well, even though I'm not super-good at fighting games, I still enjoy playing them, and the Street Fighter series is one of my favourites, and most people will be at least somewhat familiar with a Street Fighter game, so instead of going over too many basic details this video focusses more on comparisons and tidbits of how the game's supposed to play. :B

Additional Information and Corrections:

* Super Street Fighter II actually has MODEM connectivity! I can't imagine it playing very well given that modems in the days of DOS often had ping rates of 300+ milliseconds but, hey, playing games with people over a phone line was a novel concept back then! :B

* Apparently, for some bizarre reason, the original Street Fighter II port to DOS supports 1024x768 SVGA graphics... which it performs by just rendering the 320x200 graphics in the centre of the screen without any scaling or anything, resulting in a tiny game window surrounded by nothing. Kinda weird... :o

* For anyone doubting that Super Street Fighter II was ported from the SNES game... I discovered through a hex editor that the EXE file has "LICENSED BY NINTENDO" right inside it, which absolutely shouldn't be there under any circumstances unless the SNES assets, code, or both were being used! ;)
