DOSBox isn't the only emulator out there, and for adventure titles in particular, ScummVM has been suggested and recommended to me more than once, so I figured I'd take a quick look at it. Sure enough, it's very good for the games it supports... but I'll always be a DOSBox person for this kind of stuff. ;)

Additional Information and Corrections:

* Here's a quick link for those who want to grab ScummVM: http://scummvm.org

* Although you need the game data to run any of the games supported, there's actually a few you can grab for free at the bottom of ScummVM's download section, not to mention a few free ones floating around on sites like GOG.com and the RGB Classics website. ;)

* Another useful GOG link would be the following GOG Mix, which is essentially a user-created list of games. This particular mix highlights games available on GOG which work with ScummVM: http://www.gog.com/mix/scummvm_friendly_games/?pp=91dfde1d6e005e422f64a59776234f1f4c80b5e4

* I did a little more digging following making this video. SCUMM was apparently used in virtually every Lucasarts inventory adventure up to the end of 1997, since in 1998 they went from 2D adventure games to 3D adventure games and thus needed a new engine, which turned out to be GrimE, used in the creation of Grim Fandango.

* At the time when I made this video I didn't actually own any Lucasarts adventure games yet, mostly because I hadn't gotten around to looking any up and because they were often expensive to acquire. However, since this video originally went live, several have shown up on GOG and I do own a few now! ;)
