Adventures of the Music Lobby Teaser 1
16This is a project I've been silently working on the past few days. The goal is to write a SNES soundtrack for a game inspired by members of the Music Lobby. If you have no clue what that is, it's pretty much just a particular group of musicians who share their work online via a file-sharing service called DropBox.
I'm planning for the soundtrack to have around 60-70 tracks, and I will eventually throw together an RPG Maker VX game (also loosely inspired by Music Lobby members) that uses the soundtrack. So far, I have 9 tracks done; I know I should have probably waited until near-completion before releasing any teasers, but I really wanted to share something.
Anyway, without further ado, here are the normal battle and fanfare themes!

The samples used in this video come from a custom set. Most of them are ripped from my YAMAHA PSR-550 keyboard and downsampled. I ended up setting my own loop points and altering a lot of the samples to make them sound SNESish. Some of the instruments were made in Sytrus, then downsampled, etc. The whole process ended up taking several hours, but it was worth it. I'm proud to have my very own "k3font" to make retro music with.
