Age of the Ring - Shadow of the Past - Fords of the Bruinen - Treason of Isengard - Rivendell
I really enjoy this mod as it allows you to play the movie story like RTS strategy. Really really great mod.
The Lord of the Rings campaign is the main campaign that has been created for the Age of the Ring mod. It tells the story of the War of the Ring and journey of the Fellowship of the Ring. Currently, the mod contains content from the Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers, with Return of the King possibly coming in future updates
"But those who saw the things that were done in that time, deeds of valour and wonder, have elsewhere told the tale of the War of the Ring, and how it ended both in victory unlooked for and in sorrow long foreseen. Here let it be said that in those days the Heir of Isildur arose in the North, and he took the shards of the sword of Elendil, and in Imladris they were reforged; and he went then to war, a great captain of Men. He was Aragorn son of Arathorn, the nine and thirtieth heir in the right line from Isildur, and yet more like to Elendil than any before him. Battle there was in Rohan, and Curunír the traitor was thrown down and Isengard broken; and before the City of Gondor a great field was fought, and the Lord of Morgul, Captain of Sauron, there passed into darkness; and the Heir of Isildur led the host of the West to the Black Gates of Mordor."

Shadow of the Past
Thousands of years passed following Sauron's defeat at the hands of Isildur and the One Ring remained dormant until it was discovered in the possession of the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins before it was passed on to his nephew Frodo Baggins. At the insistence of Gandalf the Grey, Frodo leaves the Shire with his friend Sam because Gandalf believes that Sauron has discovered that the Ring can be found there and has sent his deadliest servants to retrieve it. The Hobbits are told to make for the village of Bree, where Gandalf is expected to meet them.
Shadow of the Past is the second mission of the Lord of the Rings Campaign, its playable heroes consist of Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gildor Inglorion, Tom Bombadil and Strider. All heroes must be kept alive otherwise the mission is failed.
Fords of the Bruinen
The four Hobbits are led by the ranger Strider into the wilderness to lose their relentless pursuers and reach the safety of Rivendell. They camp at Weathertop: the ruins of the Amon Sûl, a once great watchtower of Arnor that was destroyed by the Witch-king and the forces of Angmar. Strider leaves to scout the area and the Hobbits are once again attacked by the Nazgûl; Strider is able to fend off the Ringwraiths but not before Frodo is gravely wounded by a Morgul Blade. He must reach Rivendell immediately before the poison takes hold and he falls into shadow.
Fords of the Bruinen is the third mission of the Lord of the Rings Campaign, the heroes playable in the mission are Strider, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Glorfindel and Arwen. If any of these heroes die, the mission is failed.
Treason of Isengard
Frodo awakens in Rivendell, healed from the Morgul poisoning thanks to the skill of Lord Elrond. He finds that Gandalf has arrived and so he questions the wizard as to why he did not meet them in Bree as they had planned. Gandalf explains that he had traveled to Isengard to meet Saruman the White, the leader of the Istari order, to seek guidance; it soon became clear that Saruman had been corrupted and coveted the One Ring for himself. When asked to join Saruman, Gandalf refused and so was imprisoned in Orthanc before escaping with the aid of Gwaihir.
Treason of Isengard is the fourth mission in the Lord of the Rings Campaign, the player controls Gandalf the Grey who must be kept alive otherwise the mission is failed.
Council of Elrond
Lord Elrond called a council and summoned representatives of each race to discuss the fate of the One Ring. The night before the council, the representatives gathered in the Hall of Fire - a chamber filled with merriment and tales of old. Frodo is encouraged by Gandalf to speak to the many heroes gathered in the hall and to learn their stories.
The Council of Elrond is the fifth mission of the Lord of the Rings Campaign, the player primarily controls Frodo in the Hall of Fire and can speak to the various heroes present. Speaking to some of these heroes will trigger a vignette in which the player controls different heroes.
