The Windows 11 24H2 update introduces several new AI features, including Click to Do, Super-resolution in Photos, Generative erase and fill in Paint, and Improved Windows Search. However, access to these features is limited to Copilot+ PCs, which require a dedicated NPU.
Key points:
Copilot+ PC requirement: Only Copilot+ PCs with an NPU can access the new AI features.
Click to Do: This feature provides on-screen assistance for various tasks, such as image search, editing, and background removal.
Super-resolution: This feature allows you to upscale images up to 8 times their original resolution.
Generative erase and fill: This feature enables you to remove or add elements to images using AI.
Improved Windows Search: The search feature has been enhanced to better understand natural language queries and find relevant files.
Recall: The Recall feature has been redesigned to address privacy concerns and is now an opt-in feature.
If you do not have a Copilot+ PC, you will not be able to access these new AI features. Microsoft has not announced plans to make these features available to all Windows 11 users.
