This means, it’s the right time to pick up an air purifier. Air purifiers come in various shapes and sizes but it can get really difficult to figure out what to look out for when buying one. The First and most important thing to note while buying an air purifier is the number and grade of filters it has. Picking up an air purifier that has a big filter size and high filter grade is always a good idea. Most home air purifiers come equipped with a grade H-13 filter, which is good enough for cleaning moderately polluted air but you can go for higher grade filters if you live in highly polluted areas like Delhi NCR.
Clean Air Delivery Rate or CADR is one of the parameters to look for in an air purifier. While an air purifier's performance is generally related to this metric, we suggest not fixating on it since the standard prescribed to measure CADR doesn't really resemble real life conditions.
An air purifier can have more than one filter and selecting one with a pre-filter can help extend the life of your main filters. A Pre-filter traps larger particles like dust, hair and pet dander. Almost all air purifiers now include an activated carbon filter that is used to remove harmful gases from the air. Harmful Total volatile organic compounds like benzene and formaldehyde are released into the air while cooking or as fumes from solvents used on furniture.
After getting a high-graded filter and working device, one can look for additional features like IoT and app compatibility. An air purifier that shows the current indoor air quality level and can be turned on and off remotely is highly convenient.
