BREAKOUT, styled after the arcade game, is a game of reflexes. A black tennis ball bounces between six rows of bricks and a paddle. Bricks are destroyed when hit by the ball. When a ball evades the user controlled paddle, it is lost and a new one must be used. Only five balls are allotted for each game. The object of the game is to eliminate as many bricks as possible with each ball. Not an easy task considering the ball begins to move more quickly as the game progresses and the paddle shrinks in size.
It is possible to slightly vary the direction the ball takes by varying where it hits the paddle. Speed may also be varied by specifying "S" followed by a number between -6 and 6 where -6 would be for a very slow game and 6 for a rather challenging/impossible game. Breakout supports a mouse for moving the paddle. For those without a mouse, the left and right shift keys will move the paddle back and forth.
