Ale In A Day’s Work | Tavern Keeper (Tavern Management Sim - Demo)
304Tavern Keeper is a game that puts us in charge of a tavern in a classic medieval fantasy world of elves, halflings, orcs and magic! We place furniture, hire staff, choose what beer and food to sell and of course we decorate.
After a bit of a tutorial, where you'll be glad to know I'm able to move a camera around AND identify a table, we head over to our first proper tavern. Which is in a swamp. Excellent.
To begin with we have to get some beer in, which we pick up from a friendly passing trader. We then buy a new beer pump, attach a keg of beer and open up so we can serve our customers!
Sometimes our customers will have little stories that we can interact with, which can send us down various paths. One such story leads us to recruit Cuthbert, a friendly skeleton in need of a job!
As we earn money we're able to buy more beer and more furniture, like a dart board and comfy chairs, and we then discover the Design Mode, a splendid game mode where we can add SO MANY different little decorative items onto pretty much wherever we like in the tavern! Including... teapots! Finally!

Your Role, Should You Accept It
Starting out with a shell of a tavern in the backwaters of the kingdom, you build rooms, place items, stock the store room and hire staff to satisfy the demands of the oddball locals that stumble through your door. Run your business well and progress to larger taverns, expanding your offerings to include new meals, drinks, rooms and services.

Today’s situation: Your janitor is sick. A spark from a fireplace lands on just the wrong patch of dirt and starts smouldering. Usually not a problem for your attentive team but half of them were infected in the crowded staff quarters overnight and are bedridden. Orders are piling up and patrons' tempers are getting heated. So is the tavern. Because it’s on fire. Oops, perhaps it’s time to call the fire brigade...
Tavern Keeper is full of simulated details that can combine in unexpected ways. Temperature simulations, varied personality traits and dozens of other systems keep things interesting. But don’t worry, you’ll have the tools to handle any situation.
