Alex Kidd in Shinobi World & Batman Returns - The Master System (3/3)
0One day I decided to sit down and play a selection of old school Sega Master System games from my childhood - these are their stories (queue Law & Order SVU sound effect).
In the first part we play a chunk of Alex Kidd in Miracle World and finish up with the first half of my California Games playthrough. Part two will finish up the rest of my playthrough of California Games and will also feature Strider. In the final part of this series we take a look at Alex Kidd in Shinobi World and also Batman Returns.

Alex Kidd in Shinobi World synopsis:
The game stars Alex Kidd in a parody version of Sega's ninja-themed action game Shinobi, where Alex Kidd fights against caricatures of many of the enemies from Shinobi. It is the final video game to star the Alex Kidd character.
An evil being known as Hanzo the Dark Ninja escapes after 10,000 years of confinement and kidnaps Alex Kidd's new girlfriend from planet Shinobi. After the kidnapping, Alex encounters the ghost of the ancient warrior who originally vanquished the Dark Ninja, who explains that the Dark Ninja intends to sacrifice Alex's girlfriend to conquer the world. The spirit of the ancient warrior fuses itself with Alex's body, lending Alex his strength, skills, and courage.

Batman Returns synopsis:
Based on the plot of the movie Batman Returns (1992), Batman Returns is a platform game in which the Dark Knight must traverse five action-filled levels on his way to confront the Penguin.
Areas include the rooftops of Gotham City, Max Shreck's department store, the Red Triangle Circus and the sewers. Besides run-and-jump action, there's also a lot of combat in the game, as many of the Penguin's henchmen stand in Batman's way. He can knock them out with punches and kicks and a number of extra weapons stored in his utility belt. These include batarangs, which come in standard and self-seeking varieties, and smoke bombs that stun enemies for a while. In addition, Batman can shoot from his grappling gun and unleash a deadly swarm of bats towards enemies. All of these weapons have limited ammo, however, that must be collected.
