This game is a huge leap over the original. This is a great follow up and it made huge improvements from the first game. The graphics and environments and beautiful and colorful and dark and sinister.. The controls are tight and the weapons feel powerful. There is an upgrade system so you can slowly improve your damage output. The game also has collectibles that are a ton of fun to find and give you a good reason to explore the beautiful environments, unlike the first game. The story picks up after the first and is just more of the creepy darkness that the first started. It certainly is twisted. There are just 6 chapters, the last chapter being just the final boss. The chapters are huge though and if you are taking your time and exploring and looking for all of the collectibles it can take a few hours. The downside is that the game prevents you from backtracking and can block you from exploring if you accidentally go down the correct path while wandering and that is probably the thing that frustrated me the most. This game is a lot longer than the first and that was also nice. What was a bit disappointing is that there are no bosses. There is build up in a few levels that make you think there's going to be a cool fight and then nothing. That made me sad. The game also crashed at one very specific point when I broke open a box. It never happened again and was just this one box I wasn't allowed to open. Very strange. It ran well otherwise. It's a shame were never going to see another sequel to this franchise, at least not from American McGee anytime soon. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
