Part 2. I'm not sure why I wanted to check this game out but for some reason I heard that it was a solid licensed game. As it turns out, it is a solid licensed game. It also seems to serve as a sort of prequel to the movie. You start out as part of the RDA and are one of the people capable of being paired with an Avatar for the Na'vi. You eventually get a choice in playing as either the RDA or the Na'vi and they both have separate campaigns with their own uniqu locales. That is pretty damn impressive for a licensed game. The game is an action 3rd person shooter and both the humans and Na'vi play differently. Neither campaign is all that hard, but I think that the Na'vi campaign was a bit easier, while the human campaign was overall more enjoyable. The Na'vi weapons are much stronger than the humans, but there seemed to be a better variety in the weapons you could use. There's an experience system in the game that kind of unlocks new weapons, upgrades and armor as you play. It's sort of a natural progression. In the levels there are unique quotas you can fill to achieve a levels 100%. I did this for both campaigns and it was much easier to do for the humans. There were clear indicators for what you needed to do on the human's side while the Na'vi side you kind of had to take a fine toothed comb out and really dig in to find the destructible ammo boxes. There were a nice variety in enemies for both campaigns which is fantastic. There sort of were bosses, but not really, which is a bit of a let down overall. Th human campaign had the best final boss, while I don't think the Na'vi campaign had one at all. There also is a mini Risk like mini game you can play, which I totally failed on, but seemed cool. And you can get some helpful stuff from there that can help in the main campaign. I didn't even talk about how nice and varied the environments are and for a Xbox 360 game it looked pretty damn solid, with some vibrant and colorful environments. The controls kind of threw me off. You could invert the y-axis but not the x-axis so it took me a little while to adjust. Interesting enough, there is an option to set 3D up if your TV is capable which is really cool. Not many games offer that feature. Overall, this game was a solid shooter that was easily worth the time. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
