Gameplay of Alien vs. Predator developed by Rebellion and released in 1994. It's considered one of the best games of the failed Atari Jaguar console. Although it may not seem like it now, this game in 1994 attracted a lot of attention, especially on console, where it was still not very common to see first-person games in a pseudo-3D environment, with an engine reminiscent of Wolfenstein 3D but somewhat evolved. However, that same year Doom was released for Jaguar, considered a decent port (on which other console ports were based).

I remember seeing it in the magazines of the time, although I never got to play it, until now, when I thought of trying it with the Phoenix emulator, which I recently discovered. The emulation seems correct as far as I've seen, only the texture of some doors looks corrupted. There is another Jaguar emulator, Virtual Jaguar, but in that one it's the map that looks corrupted, so it's worse.

About the game, at the beginning you don't know much of what's going on, so you have to read the manual and know the characteristics of each race and their objectives, because in this game we can control a human colonial marine, an alien or a predator. In any case, I found it a really difficult game, the enemies dispossicion are random to add tension, but the worst thing is that the levels are very labyrinthine, moving through several levels in addition, and that the map resets every time you change level does not help.

Is it recommendable to play it today? I would say no, especially having more games of the saga later (2 of them on PC, and another one on PC and consoles, the first and the third also developed by Rebellion, by the way). This game today is more a curiosity to see one of the best games that the Jaguar was capable to offer.
