Aliens: Alien 2 - MSX - longplay
Released exclusively in Japan. It is based on the film of the same name. The game was originally also going to be released on the Family Computer Disk System, but this never happened.
Only a prototype surfaced, years after; here's the ending: • Aliens (prototype) - Nintendo FDS - ending
The Japan-only Aliens: Alien 2 was a very different game to the Aliens video game released elsewhere around the globe. Unlike the first-person strategy format of the more widely available game, the Japanese release is a fast-paced side-scrolling shooter.
The Japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu did the entire soundtrack (the same who composed musics for Final Fantasy).
Many many many thanks to @ReBITMAGAZINE for this longplay!
He also wrote some notes:
"This game is a megarom, reaching the megabit (128k)
It is an action game (like turrican), characterized by weapon enhancements and dodging attacks with somersaults; you can detect the aliens presence via the radar at the top.
The giant boss aliens are all the same, with the only difference that they have more energy as you proceed in the game.
To make things more difficult, the last level, level 5, has a series of trap doors that can mislead the player, so you often find yourself back at the same point or even warped to level 4!!
This video is part of the videogame endings database, whose goal is to catalogue and create the world's largest archive of videogame endings! (what an humble and not ambitious project :D)
